The Greek words translated “fellowship” in the New Testament essentially have to do with a partnership to the mutual benefit of those involved. True biblical fellowship is a relationship of inner unity among believers that expresses itself in outer co-participation with Christ and one another in accomplishing God’s will on earth. Those who believe the gospel are united in the Spirit through Christ to the Father, and that unity is the basis of fellowship.
The importance of Christian fellowship is that it reinforces this “inner unity” in our mind and helps us to focus on Christ and His desires and goals for us. In true Christian fellowship, Christians sharpen one another’s faith and stir one another to exercise that faith in love and good works, all to God’s glory.
That which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 1 John 1:3
We love to come together and fellowship with one another at Risen Church. One of the ways we do that is through the events we plan on our church calendar.
